I'm really excited on this project that I'm working on right now. I have worked with the Department of Trade and Industry for quite some time last year and it was fun. (Story here)
This year I was task to create another campaign for CW this time here at the PIA.
The 2017 theme is "Consumer Rights for the Digital Age" (link)
It was so millennial haha!
We came up with this urban dictionary, It is a list of terms that are commonly used in the digital market.
Online Shopping Terminology;
1.
B> (Buyer)
A person looking to purchase a product.
2.
S> (Seller)
A person looking to sell a product.
3.
Bogus (Fake)
4.
Legit (Real)
5.
HM- (How
Much?) - Commented on a post inquiring on the price of the product.
6.
PM Po- (“Private
Message po") - Common response of the seller when asked on details of
the product for sale. This means that they are asking you to message them
directly and to continue from there.
7.
JIC- (“Just
in Case”) - In a situation where there are two potential buyers of the same
product, the seller would agree to one but also to ensure a buyer, would
message the second to give assurance that if the first were not to go through
they would in turn get the product.
8.
LP (“Last
Price”) – the lowest negotiating price the seller is willing to go for the
product.
9.
BQ/LQ (“Bad
Quality/Low Quality”) – Used to describe the condition or quality of the
product
10. GQ/HQ
(“Good Quality/High Quality”) - Used
to describe the condition or quality of the product
11. Dibs
– To reserve a product for sale.
12. MOP
(“Mode of Payment”) - Means of how
the product being bought would be paid for.
a.
COH/COD (“Cash-in-hand
or Cash-on-Delivery”) -cash payment would be given upon delivery
b.
Deposit- payment would be deposited to a bank
account. The seller would request you to send the transaction number as proof
of payment.
13. SF
(“Shipping Fee”) – Usually not
included on the actual price of the product, is an added payment for the
delivery of the product through a courier service.
14. ETA/ETD
(“Estimated Time of Delivery or Estimated Time of Arrival”) The time it
would take the product being delivered by a courier.
15. Meet
Up – Type of transaction where both the buyer and seller agree to meet at a
specific place to exchange product for payment
16. Swap
or Trade – Type of transaction where instead of money, an item of equal value
is exchanged for the product.
17. RFS
(Reason for Selling) - The reason for the product being sold.
18. Up!
– Placed in comment boxes to push the post up on the feed for promotion.
19. LF
(“Looking For”) – Posted by buyers
that are looking for a specific product.
20. FAQ
(“Frequently Asked Questions”) a list
of questions and answers usually provided for by shops and sellers on questions
repeatedly asked.
21. WYSIWYG
(“What You See is What You Get”)
- Referring to the photo or immediate
description of a product being sold on it being what was only detailed and
shown beforehand.
22. TIA
(“Thanks in Advance”) A form of
pleasantry given even before the completion of a transaction.
23. PTPA
(“Permission to Post Admin’”) – attached
to posts that haven’t gotten officially approved by the mediators or
administrators of a page. Can be taken down from the page. 16. ETA/EDA-
Estimated Time/Date of Arrival.
