University of Baguio in its celebration of the 61^st Foundation Anniversary brings one of most sought after band in the Philippines “PUPIL.” with rock legend Ely Buendia in guitar and vocals, Yan Yuzon in lead guitar, Dok Sergio in base Wendel Garcia in drums.

With diverse music, from alternative to pop rock the Pupil made its mark to millions of fans around the globe, and last Saturday August 8, the UB Gymnasium roared as adoring crowd chants Ely’s name. Head nodded, bodies moved and jumped to the beat while singing.

“We are four unique individuals with our own unique talents” Ely Buendia stressed in an exclusive interview by sun star. The Band was formed in 2005 with the carrier single “Nasan ka” since then they raised the bar in the music scene.

“Kaming apat. Wala kami masyadong pinapakinggang music na trip naming lahat, sometimes musical differences is the reason why a band breaks up, for us musical differences are the reason we are strong.” Stated by Yan the brother of Spongecola’s vocals Yael Yuzon.

It is their first time, as a group to play here in Baguio, since all most of them has a former band groups “Ako 17 years old ako itong UB ang first gig ko out of town” Wendel Garcia said, formerly the drummer for Barbies Cradle.

“Baguio has always been one of my favorite places to go to not just to relax and unwine, but also to perform it was like 10 years ago with eraserheads and now, it was always the same, and the weather is great the crowd is great.” Ely added.

The Pupils garnered the breakthrough artist of the year on their second album, they got five out of seven nomination in NU rock awards, including the drummer of the year for Wendel, Video and Producer of the year for the song “Monobloc”

A special edition album will be released entitled “Wildlife” with videos, rare live set for fans, and photos plus their smash hits they say this repackaged album will be a tribute to their supporters.
